Preparing for the future: More options are available outside traditional Western medicine.
Each time my body sent me unbearable pain, I felt guilty about my inability to manage it. I felt weak and, like so many others, I felt useless in my body; the Endometriosis had complete control over me. There was a period in my life where I told people I only had 3-4 days out of the month that I could enjoy pain-free. Luckily, those days are behind me, and I live a pain-free and healthy lifestyle. I want to teach you how you, too, can release the shackles of the #endomonster.
If you have Endometriosis, my heart is with you. I want you to feel validated, heard, and hopeful that healing is available for you, that your pain is not invisible, and that your wellness and enjoyment of life matter. I share my journey so that other women do not have to lose the years and energy I lost while finding my healing path, and I believe that what was missing from my pain and emotional healing was my spiritual connection to my body.
Building the awareness that my body needed to be loved and nurtured beyond what traditional Western medicine offered me opened my eyes to a new, manageable and approachable lifestyle change. When I say spiritual connection, I aim to illustrate how our energy contributes to the management of Endometriosis; in no way does this mean you should not seek medical attention; it just introduces another vehicle in which you can choose to move your healing forward.
There is much to learn, and self-advocacy is critical in successfully managing this disease. I want you to feel confident in taking power back and bringing vitality into your life. I know how dark those days are and how mentally exhausting it is to turn up at the doctor or OBGYN on a month-to-month basis only to be met with more frustration and anger. I was given every birth control and hormone therapy to control the pain, but nothing worked. My body reacted poorly to everything we tried. The first thing I recommend is to bring your body back into balance.
No one warned me about the detrimental effects that pain medication has on your liver and spleen, and I was living on superstrength Acetaminophen daily. After my IUD proved to be another unsuccessful treatment, I was intuitively led to homeopathic research medicine for healing pelvic disease. My healing journey began with my first visit to my homeopath's doctor. This bright young woman listened to me and helped educate me on my body and the holistic modality approach to healing, which differed from traditional Western medicine. Being an advocate for your best health and wellness means stepping out of your comfort zone and expanding your horizons. I initially hesitated to begin the protocol, but my body improved gradually. I regained confidence and began actually to feel my body again.
Endometriosis, if left untreated, can affect your mental health. The years of pain and neglect to the body create numbness and dissociation that is dark and scary. I found out through homeopathic therapy that my body was stressed out from being stressed out. This is where my journey with Endometriosis shifted; I had never considered what my illness was doing to my spiritual health, and as an empath, this is SO important to consider. I was treated with different modalities and introduced to alternative energy healing methodologies that bumped up my energy and allowed me to access connection points and access to my inner self.
